Give It A Rest!
There is only so much you can do.
It is said that the world, the heavens, the earth, the sea and all that is in them, were created in six days. But on the seventh day the Lord rested.
Whether you believe in a God or not, the point I want to make is that even a god does not work 24/7.
He takes a rest and gives things the space and time to evolve and grow on their own.

That is exactly what I, a true former control freak, found so difficult
to do.
I always thought that everything would go terribly wrong if I didn't stay on top of it all the time and gave it that little extra push. This fear and belief sometimes turned me into a real tyrant, towards others, but also towards myself. It created a lot of tension and stress but I always thought that I could and would be happy after this or that has been done correctly (i.e. my way). The only problem was that happy time never came.

It was very hard for me to believe that with a little bit of space everything can fall into the right place automatically or that given a little bit of time things can work themselves. Fortunately, I simply did not have the energy nor the capabilities to stay on top of everything all the time. And life showed me over and over again that a little leeway creates results that initially might not meet my expectations but that in the end fulfill and even exceed my wildest dreams.
So, finally, I have come to realise that only by giving things a rest now and then, that everything will turn out ok and that this is why it is said:
Blessed is the man who keeps the Sabbath without desecrating it.
(The Bible, Isaiah 56:2)

Some say the Sabbath is on Sunday. Others say it is on Saturday. But it is not a specific day in the week. It is not a specific time of the day. It is that time that sooner or later arrives for everything we do and everything we want to achieve. At some point we need to let go and pause. At some point we need to wait and watch before we push on.
Everything needs a rest now and then, not just our body.
If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath
and from doing as you please
on my holy day
if you call the Sabbath a delight
and the Lords' day honourable
and if you honour it by not going your own way
and not doing as you please
or speaking idle words
then you will find your joy in the Lord
and I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land
and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.
The mouth of the Lord has spoken.

(The Bible, Isaiah 58:13-14)

You must observe my Sabbath.
This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come
so that you may know that I am the Lord
who makes you holy.

(The Bible, Exodus 31:13)

If you do not observe the Sabbath as a Sabbath,
you will not see the Father.
